ToggleRefund and Cancellation Policy
Rare Fauna maintains an uncompromising standard of operational excellence, biological care, and safety regarding the placement of our live animals and specialized nutrition products.
Because our private facility deals in highly regulated, living wildlife, elite canine lineages, and delicate aquatic species, our financial and logistical operations differ fundamentally from standard retail operations.
This policy governs all transactions executed through our storefront, outlining our strict structural guidelines for order cancellations, live animal finality, and non-refundable placement deposits.
Finality of Live Animal Placements
The acquisition of an extraordinary companion represents a serious, lifelong commitment, and our facility enforces a strict final sales policy to protect the biological safety of our inventory.
Rare Fauna does not accept returns, exchanges, or physical product rollbacks on any live animal including fennec foxes, finger monkeys, axolotls, pedigree dogs, and pedigree cats once the specimen has departed our private facility.
Reintroducing an animal to our biosecure departments after it has entered an external environment poses severe biological risks, potential exposure to pathogens, and unnecessary acclimation stress for the animal.
We advise all clients to thoroughly research local regulations, secure mandatory state permits, and finalize habitat parameters before completing a transaction, as all live animal placements are entirely final upon dispatch.
Cancellation Fees and Order Holding Protocols
When a buyer completes a transaction or reserves an available specimen, that specific animal is immediately removed from our available inventory and placed into a dedicated pre-shipment isolation protocol. This process initiates immediate operational costs, including mandatory veterinary wellness checks, state health certificate processing, and the coordination of specialized climate controlled live-animal shipping manifests.
If a client requests an order cancellation before the animal has departed our facility, the transaction is subject to a mandatory twenty percent cancellation and holding fee.
This fee is non-negotiable and is automatically deducted from the total refund amount to cover our accrued medical overhead, administrative licensing expenses, and the lost placement opportunities incurred while holding the animal off the open market.
Prohibited Jurisdictions and Automatic Cancellation Fees
Maintaining an absolutely clean legal record requires total alignment with geographic wildlife restrictions, and our compliance office rigorously audits all shipping destination data.
If a buyer bypasses our checkout warnings and attempts to purchase a restricted species, such as attempting to ship a finger monkey or fennec fox into a prohibited state like California or New York, our system will automatically flag and terminate the order.
Cancellations triggered by a buyer’s failure to verify their local zoning laws or secure mandatory possession documentation are subject to an automatic processing fee to cover merchant transaction penalties and administrative review time. For our bio-secure feeder division, orders for live roaches for sale are processed immediately; due to the rapid packaging cycles required for live insects, feeder colony sales cannot be altered or cancelled once processing has commenced.
